What? You say. It is still here! Yeah I know but when I first encountered this forum 7-9 years ago (damn has it been that long?) this place was lit up with people and the conversations were fun and lively! I understand people change and move on but this place had a family aspect to it at one time. I sincerely miss it. Names I remember seeing all the time (some are still here):
Andy Vamp Hanoirocksroxmysox Cotton Candy Lover Deviant D Dont remember his screen name but his signature always read "You know your real glam when your eyeliner is tattooed on like mine" Johnny V from Sick Six Crush
There are many more but you get the picture!

it was all too easy for me to sit online all day, back then. Unfortunately it didn't pay the bills.

Actually, Deviant D is still one of the most active posters on this site. Deviant D is Darren E. Andii Vamp still pops in from time to time. It was Hanoiroxmyboat, if I am not mistaken. She had some personal issues, if I am not mistaken, and had a rough go of it from time to time. I believe her brother was killed in an auto accident, and when she was posting here she was only...I think...14 or so. Cotton Candy Lover (Lycan) got married and got busy with life. In some ways I think Darren is right when he blames Facebook, as many of the old Glitz crowd is very active there. When Andii was doing all of his posting, he was a fulltime beer drinker and video game player, when not taking care of the kids. I still remember when he got a job, he almost vanished completely. So there is a ton of truth to what Stace says. MOst of those who vanished realized life could no longer wait. Now, this being said, there is no doubt that of all the message boards I go to, Glitz is the most dead. Every site I hit has a lot of action, whereas this one can go weeks without a post. That's a very sad statement. I really would be curious as to what the unique hit totals are for Glitz, both main site and board. In all honesty, the main site is a sad excuse for what it once was, and I am thinking that might be a small part of the blame. I hate to say that, but in my opinion, it is very much the truth. If the main site is poor, why would anybody bother with the message board attached? I do think it could be saved, but there needs to be an effort by people, and I am not so sure anybody wants to put in that effort.

Carl, are these other forums that you go to music related? What are they? One of the things that really gets me down is that this online community was the only place that I had that I could talk about the music that we love and have fun. Think about it, our music isn't "popular" and it is really hard to meet people in real life that share our taste. It isn't as bad in different parts of Europe like Sweden but here in the States, I live in Florida, it is DEAD!
I do have 2 things going for me right now though. I live 45 minutes for Rob Rock and Gargemel! so that is cool. When they play shows, it is always a good time.

Former Glitz contributor Johnny H is doing an amazing job with his gang over at Uber Rock. www.uberrock.co.uk but I dunno what the forum there is like. I know some of our folks are over there.

No, they are movies, comics, and a modeling site. There are contributors to the comic and movie site that might be part of the reason, as on the film site they are some of the top journalists in the field posting there.
I checked out Johnny's site, atleast the board. There are posts made every day, but they are from Johnny himself. Unless there are "members only" boards that I can't see, it looks much the same there as here, very little member activity. It could be people just have no desire to talk music. I know that I find myself wandering into that realm more and more as I get older. I spend more time talking other interests and collecting other things than music. Music was a love and a passion, and I was burned by it to some degree, so the passion has faded. I would guess that for many, once the Rock and Roll dream has died, other interests start to take control.

I still keep an eye on the place, but must admit that at that time, there was no Myspace and Facebook. Glitzine was THE place for finding out about music that wasn't mainstream. Nearly 10 years ago since I joined. Many of us were in bands and lived on the scene. I still have the band, but don't really hang on the scene much anymore. Married life, less disposable income and responsibilities has affected everyone in the band.
I tell ya, just seeing those old names in the first entry brought back a lot of memories!

Carl, I am still a beer drinker and PS3/360 player Yes, working a lot and the children take up a lot of time, so I pop in every now and again for a nose at what may be new, so am still around here and there. The old board definitely was a lot of fun and more active (But I can't help but wonder to myself... how many of those threads back then were pointless and bollocks? I know I posted a lot of pointless bollocks, but I was also younger then too). There was never a dull moment back then though Still though... it was very active back then, and I do miss it if I am honest. A lot of people grew up a bit, had other things in life to take care of etc. I am still 100% glam and love the music that's for sure. That hasn't changed. I never bother with Facebook etc. Just like popping in on message boards here and there.

Ah, good deal Andii! Glad to hear the vids and beer are still rocking! I still remember signing on to Glitz at 9PM my time, and you being here. I would sit, figure the time difference, and just laugh. Ah, those were the good ol' days. Remember that asshole Raggz?

Those were indeed the good ol' days mate Haven't heard from Raggz in while. He sent me a few Yahoo messenger messages a while back, but that was it. Even more weird is that I keep getting spammed by his email account. I know it isn't him, it's just random links to sites I have never even heard of. I am assuming that email account of his has been hacked.

Raggz and Annette are both good. I've had a bit of Sunday night NFL banter with him on Facebook lately. Next time i'm on my pc i'll let him know about the email. I've had a few spams from old Yahoo addresses lately.
