The new VAiN album is set to be released in September. You can get it from cdjapan.co.jp or the japanese HMV site. Unfortunately no US or Europe releasedate is set, but I'm getting the Japanese version anyway.
It comes with a bonus cd of the "unreleased" second album All Those Strangers (the album was released in a limited 500 copies by the band 2-3 years ago).
Here is the tracklisting:
1. [Disc 1] Solid Gold
2. [Disc 1] Worship You
3. [Disc 1] Treasure Girl
4. [Disc 1] Enough Rope
5. [Disc 1] Vain
6. [Disc 1] Straight Kitten
7. [Disc 1] Triple X
8. [Disc 1] Hot Stage Lights
9. [Disc 1] Greener
10. [Disc 1] Distance Of Love
11. [Disc 1] Cindy (Japan-Only Bonus Track)
12. [Disc 2] Love Drug
13. [Disc 2] Planet's Turning
14. [Disc 2] Shooting Star
15. [Disc 2] Too Bad
16. [Disc 2] Far Away
17. [Disc 2] Wake Up
18. [Disc 2] Freak Flag
19. [Disc 2] Here Comes Lonely
20. [Disc 2] Shouldn't Cry
21. [Disc 2] Do You Sleep With Strangers?
According to the band, this album is the most like No Respect they have ever done. Meaning bigger guitarsound and more uptempo songs.
Long time VAiN fans will also recognize the titles of at least 4 of these songs, that are all in demo versions on youtube.
Cindy (quite possibly the band's best ever song), Worship You and Enough Rope are all from the band Roadcrews that Davy had with Steven Adler. The 2 first ones are floating around on demos and the last one is known from the Live At The Limelight in NYC '92 DVD bootleg. All great uptempo songs.
Distance Of Love is fantastic and in the vein of Icy from No Respect. It was released on and album called Delaney that featured a lot of different singers doing a kinda soundtrack to a book.
Davy wrote and sang this one + new versions of Here Comes Loneley (superior version) and Planet's Turning (not so good version) from the All Those Strangers album. He also wrote 2 songs sung by the singer from laura Coil (I think) and 1 song sung by the guy from Pink Cream 69. A pretty decent album, but with several songwriters and singers on it, it kinda lacks consistency, so I'm glad that the outstanding Distance Of Love gets a proper release now.
You can find all 4 of these songs on youtube.
Anyone else as excited as me?
