The Mcrackins – “It ain’t over easy” (Wolverine Records) The Mcrackins are back once again with their 16th anniversary high energy Pop Punk full length album; “It ain’t over easy”. Love them or Hate them, if you’re a fan of Pop Punk to any degree you should know who The Mcrackins are. They’re the under-rated Pop Punk veterans of 16 + years of touring and putting out album after album, who just so happen to be Two Cracked Eggs and a big white dog.
Enough with the small talk let’s get into their latest release; “It ain’t over easy”.
The album is filled to the top with free flowing hook filled melodies, a 3 chord machine gun attack, and deeply heart felt lyrics. As someone who is an enthusiastic fan of these Circus Freaks, I can say that The Mcrackins have never before put together such a consistent album as “It ain’t over easy. You want nerd core, boy doesn’t get the girl songs? This album has them. Do you want some simple bubblegum pop with catchy choruses? This record has plenty to share. You want deep melodies with catchy riffs? You got it right here, buddy.
If you’re a fan of Bubblegum Pop Punk that brings more than 4 simple lines and a chorus this album is for you. I won’t say that every song is a blockbuster must have hit, but of the fourteen tracks there are at least ten songs that I will be listening to for years to come. My favorite songs of “It ain’t over easy” are;
“Edge of the World”, “Only In the Movies”, “Nerd core Rising”. “Fairy Tale” and what sounds like the swan song for a great band I’ve enjoyed for years; “It Ain’t Over Easy”
**You’re a lazy swollen ball sack if you didn’t pre-order this and get a free t-shit.**
