O.K., let's get a tad bit of discussion going here. Everybody name a release you've picked up or had sent to you that has created a "FUCK YEAH" moment. If you are able to make ANY comment on somebody else's pick, make it. Don't just ignore what everybody else has written, actually make a comment, negative, positive, or indifferent. I'll start: December Peals - Everybody Has Demons. This is a German band I had never heard of but was sent for review not too long ago. My full review is at www.sonicruin.com and it is damn near novel length. I think it is the longest review I have done yet. But in a nutshell, every damn thing about this release blew my mind. Great vocals, ranging from a singing Robin Zander style at moments, to a great yell. The energy is all out and the styles are too many to list, all crammed into one song. No doubt, these guys are Glam, Metal, Punk, Pop, and maybe a hesitant touch of Emo dropped in, but I blame that more on their era than anything else. RATT - Infestation: Sooooo much better than it has any right to be. For my money RATT only has one really good album up until this point, and that is Out Of The Cellar. Other than that (I do like the debut EP), they are nothing more than a bunch of shitty songs surrounding a great songs ("I Want A Woman" and "Giving Yourself Away" are brilliant tunes). But with this release they actually have given themselves a grand total of 2 really good releases! No, it is not as good as OoTC, but it is very strong. Granted, this might be a winner due to such low expectations, but I think it also just might be a solid release. I'm giving it a second spin right now and am enjoying it. So my "FUCK YEAH" moment is also just as much from shock as it is enjoyment.

Very cool to hear the Ratt album is great! I'm curious about that one. I've heard two songs so far and thought one of them was great. The single track was a little too polished for me. I don't like I Want A Woman either though. Is it released yet?
Albums that blew me away?
GATECRASHERS - ROCK'N'ROLL SUICIDE - THE EPIC SOUND OF SHIT AND FAILURE. This album was released at the end of last year and I think they have managed to score a distribution deal for it, at least in Norway, now. Fucking fantastic album! Nearly every song is a killer. I like a lot of the new sleaze bands, but I must admit that I think most of them are all looks and attitude and not enough good songs. So it's so refreshing to hear a band that actually has great songs, a cool production and their own sound. I would describe their sound as a mix between Frankenstein Dragqueens, Warrior Soul, Morlet Crue, LA Guns and a bit of Faster Pussycat thrown in there. The best songs on the album are Supersonic and House Of The Dead, but all of them are well worth it.
WARRIOR SOUL - CHINESE DEMOCRACY / AND WE ROCK'N'ROLL / DESTROY THE WAR MACHINE The album has been released with 3 different covers and 3 different titles. It's not a solid album start to finish, but the good songs on there are fantastic. Bad News Rock'n'Roll Boyfriend is one I have been playing since I first got this album. Motor City is another fantastic one. There are only 8 songs on this album, but 5 of them are great, 1 is cool but a bit too long, 1 is ok and the Iggy cover is not so interesting.
I'm sure there are more albums as well, but I will come back with those later.

The single on the RATT album is the only one that "polished" sounding actually, and might be one of the worst tracks on it. That is also the closest to sounding like "I Want A Woman", so feel safe there. Make no mistake about it though, this is a 100% Sunset Strip/Sleaze release. I think that is what has happened for most of these bands and why so many of them seem to be able to make decent albums again, they have stopped trying to be relevant and are just trying to do what they do.
I think I will be needing to check out the Gatecrashers. That sounds like it could be a good album. I also know exactly what you mean about most of the current Sleaze outfits. I think part of the problem is also a severe lack of quality vocalists now. There are no Sebastian Bach's out there (though I always hated Bach, the guy COULD sing).
Warrior Soul was always a battle for me. I so wanted to like them, bought the 1st and 2nd releases on release days. Fact, I had them before as I was given promos for them. I have a boot of their first tour, and listened to them all the time. I liked Kory's angst and his willingness to stand up to forces such as Axl, no matter how futile the action was.
But I eventually had to admit that they bored the living fuck out of me!
I came to decide that the songs were too long, way too simple (one riff many times for the whole fucking 9 minute song or two riffs, a total of 5 chords...ugh). Now, being a fan of Punk I am cool with minimal chord use...but give us something more.
But I have heard so many good things about that final album and his follow-up band I should check them out. But he now just pisses me off...so I am still not sure if I care to. Oh...so many complications to deal with...

If we're talking past few years...say 3 CD's that go HEAVY rotation for me are: Texas Terri Bomb - My Lips Your Ass - itunes.apple.com/us/album/your-lips-my-a-s/id131113559www.myspace.com/texasterriOut of curiosity because our Euro promoter put on her tours, I checked out some of her Youtube clips and was impressed. I found the CD "My Lips Your Ass" and I said "FUCK YEAH!" this is great. Raw, catchy and in your face. One Hit Wonder, Dirty Action, Never Shut Up and the insanely awesome Strike Three are my favorites. The whole CD is great and produced by Jack Douglas! Vains Of Jenna -The Art Of Telling Lies - This is one of the best Sleaze rock resurgence CD's I've heard yet. From beginning to end -Solid!...The song Art Of Telling Lies is Epic! Too bad their singer just quit a few weeks back. Apparently they are making some major announcement today. itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-art-of-telling-lies/id327977469Trashcan Darlings - Real Fucking Makeupitunes.apple.com/ca/album/real-f-g-make-up/id335077015No Chris didn't pay me to write this ;D I fucking played this CD to death on my iPod. It's almost like a greatest hits minus some of the newer CD great tunes. I don't care what Chris says...I would have included Peggy Sue Died Last Night. That was the first song I heard by TCD and went FUCK YEAH! why haven't I heard this? and christ this guys on the board! Awesome sadly underrated under-appreciated band that I've introduced many of my friend to. Looking forward to Suicide Bombers! Cheap Trick - Rockford/The Latestwww.myspace.com/cheaptrickCheap Tricks resurgence in the last 5 years has been meteoric. Two critically acclaimed CD's, The whole Sgt Pepper success, This years appearance on Austin City Limits and PBS Soundstage, finally the upcoming release of the Steve Albini re-recorded "In Colour" album, appearing on the Tranformers Revenge Of The Fallen soundtrack, and relentless touring has been amazing from a fan perspective. Seems like since they got a new manager and started putting out records on their own everything has changed. Rockford is a great record, best since the Red Ant self titled in 1997. The Latest is a little thin on rockers, except the amazing "Sick Man Of Europe" and a few others...The Latest I feel is heavily influenced by them doing the whole Beatles thing. Listen to Closer on the myspace page...Beatles meets Oasis with a CT vibe. They already have half of their next CD finished. The energy these guys have at 60 is amazing. Teenage BottleRocket - Totalwww.myspace.com/teenagebottlerocketThe best Pop Punk CD I've heard in years. From start to finish every song is a locomotive toe tapper The Loyalties - So Much For Sohowww.myspace.com/theloyaltiesTake one part Rancid and one part Social D with great songwriting and you have The Loyalties, Solid CD throughout. Sugarcoat is just a stellar song. Semi Precious Weapons - We Love Youwww.myspace.com/semipreciousweaponsBest pure glam album I've heard in many years. These guys, particularly the singer Justin Tranter are fearless and take the genre to the extreme. They just got picked up by Universal and sounds like they've done re-works of the some of the older songs that sound really good. I predict Tranter to be the Lady Gaga of a glam resurgence.

I haven't heard most of what you posted Spot. Semi Precious Weapons I thought was ok. Very cool to have that type Jayne Countyish Trans glam back again, but from the album I've heard I really only like 1 song. They got a good energy though and if they get better at the songwriting it's a band I could get into heavily.
Vains Of Jenna I haven't heard nearly enough of, but I guess I should check them out soon. Teenage Bottlerocket is way cool!
Didn't know you listened to RFMU that much, Spot! Cool! Peggy-Sue Is Dead was omitted from that CD for 2 reasons. First, I don't think we had the space to include it (I could be mistaken here) and also we still had a lot of Tunes From The Trashcan EPs left at that point and we didn't wanna give people 1 less reason to buy that one.

I'd also say Semi Precious Weapons' "We Love You". They stand somewhere between the Toilet Boys, Hedwig & the Angry Inch and Jayne County to me and see even better live than on recording. Their major label re-works sound a bit polished compared to the original ones but we'll see what the future will bring. Their Lady Gaga connection (they're opening on all dates of her world tour) is also a great opportunity to bring this kind of music to a a very young audience. I'd also mention the Cute Lepers (with former Briefs members) www.myspace.com/thecutelepersI loved their albums "Can't Stand modern Music" and "Smart Accessories"... Nothing new under the sun but it's done so well and in such a refreshing way. A must have if you like The Boys, the Buzzcocks, Generation X, etc. I also enjoyed Wednesday 13's GunFire 76. www.myspace.com/gunfire76Good catchy glam punk songs with a Sunset Strip touch.

I thought they had a ok distribution deal, but seems that didn't turn out. You can probably try and hit them up on Facebook if you are on there. ABNORMAL - VAYA CON NAZIBURGER Ok, this one hasn't even been released yet, but me and my buddy Billy from Cockroach Clan were in the studio adding some power backing vocals and ghosting a few choruses for this album and I have been listening to it every day since I got it on mp3. Abnormal was a punk band here in the early/mid 90's. At that time they weren't really good. They played alright, but the songwriting wasn't really THERE yet, then the guitarplayer quit and formed a successful pop band here called Surferosa (check out videos for Saturday Night or Neon Commando on youtube if you're curious). Abnormal broke up. Now Surferosa have broken up, or at least taken a long break, and Abnormal are back and this time it rocks like fuck!
The album consists of 16 very melodic, high energy, faaaast punk songs. Musically I would say it's a mix between Mcrackins, early Turbonegro and NOFX. Lyrically they also have that early Turbo vibe. The first song is called We Are The Dads, which is true and something they weren't the last time they were around. Other songtitles are "Paul Watson Syndrome,""Angry Calypso Shake,""My Slacks Are Fine" and "Menstruation Is A Bloody Waste Of Fucking Time."
Safe to say Billy and I had to read through the lyrics and get the laughter out before we could sing anything.
If you are into this kinda punk, this album is highly recommended. I have no clue when it will be out or who will release it, but I will let you all know.
